Softball Game Preview: Eastside Rams vs. First Academy Eagles + Official Tickets

The Eastside Rams will take on the First Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Eastside fell victim to Fort White and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 14-0 to the Indians.

Meanwhile, First Academy earned a 5-1 victory over City of Life Christian Academy on Monday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly four runs.

Rebecca Barnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on 13 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, First Academy got a massive performance out of Skylar Gay, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gay has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Hayleigh Collop, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

First Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Eastside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eastside has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like First Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
