Cactus Shadows had won two straight games and Donivan Dixon did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Falcons walked away with a 48-40 win over the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers thanks in part to Dixon, who threw for 316 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 199 yards and one score on only 15 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Cactus Shadows' success: when he posts at least 300 passing yards the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

When it comes to explaining why Tucson High Magnet School lost, don't look at Derek Mesa. Despite the final result, he threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards and one score. Malaki Hiadzi Cunningham was Mesa's top target, picking up 116 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Cactus Shadows' record is now 6-4. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
