Soccer Game Preview: Bauxite vs. Star City

The Bauxite Miners will square off against the Star City Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Bauxite is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Mena on Friday. The Miners and the Bearcats finished up their game with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Star City entered their tilt with Danville on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Little Johns. Three seems to be a good number for Star City as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Star City pushed their record up to 10-3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matches. With that draw, Bauxite's record moves to 12-5-1.

Bauxite took their victory against Star City in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 6-1 score. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
