Volleyball Game Preview: Stevenson Patriots vs. Lakes Eagles

Stevenson is a perfect 4-0 against Lakes since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Patriots will challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Stevenson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Lakes will come in with three straight wins.

Last Wednesday, Stevenson didn't have quite enough to beat Libertyville and fell 2-1.

Stevenson couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Libertyville a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 32-34, 25-15, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Lakes beat North Chicago 2-0 on Thursday.

Lakes easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-13.

Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Lakes, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Stevenson beat Lakes 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
