Volleyball Recap: Lockport Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Lockport won the last time they faced Providence Catholic and things went their way on Thursday too. The Porters came out on top against the Celtics by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Porters.

While Lockport won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-16.

Lockport got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Antonio Fiordirosa out in front who had eight digs and seven assists. Those eight digs gave Fiordirosa a new career-high. Drew Miller was another key player, getting seven digs and six assists.

Lockport's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-7. As for Providence Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Lockport has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Plainfield Central on the 18th. As for Providence Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bremen on the 21st.
