Softball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. East Lake Eagles

St. Petersburg hasn't had much luck against East Lake recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Green Devils will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. St. Petersburg has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Petersburg's offense. They came up short against Largo on Tuesday, falling 14-0. The Green Devils' loss continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

St. Petersburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslie Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Anderson hit this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for East Lake's offense. They fell just short of Palm Harbor University by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for East Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

St. Petersburg might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from East Lake in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Green Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
