Basketball Recap: O'Bannon Takes a Loss

O'Bannon fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Clarksdale on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 53-51. The Greenwaves' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, O'Bannon still got an impressive performance from Cordario Calvin, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Calvin's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Jones, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

O'Bannon's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Clarksdale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

O'Bannon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-44 win against Palmer on the 25th. As for Clarksdale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-15 defeat against Coahoma County on the 25th.
