Volleyball Game Preview: Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates vs. Hi-Plains Patriots

After both having extra time off, the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates and the Hi-Plains Patriots will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval came up short against Otis last Friday, falling 3-0. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Hi-Plains waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Hi-Plains never let Briggsdale on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 27-25, 25-16.

Hi-Plains' victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Hi-Plains in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
