Football Recap: Elko Indians vs. Melba Mustangs
While Elko put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Melba. The Elko Indians blew past the Melba Mustangs, posting a 44-0 victory at home. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Jake Carsrud was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Coy Jones, who picked up 76 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Elko's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elko will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fernley at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th.
