Basketball Game Preview: Richfield Tigers vs. Leadore Mustangs + How To Watch

The Richfield Tigers will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Leadore Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Richfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Richfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 40-35 W over Rimrock last Tuesday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Malia Kent was nothing short of spectacular: she posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Josslyn Long, who scored eight points along with nine boards and three steals.

Richfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Leadore got the win against Salmon on Wednesday by a conclusive 49-26. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Savages: they've now won six in a row.

Richfield's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Leadore, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Richfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Leadore in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 44-31. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
