Clovis has gone a perfect 3-0 against Stockdale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Clovis will venture away from home to face off against Stockdale at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Clovis' offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bakersfield Christian on Saturday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Clovis got a good showing from Christian Gonzalez, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

Meanwhile, Stockdale owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past San Luis Obispo 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Salvatore Russo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Charlie Ryder, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Owen Hill also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Stockdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Clovis' loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Clovis came out on top in a nail-biter against Stockdale in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
