Baseball Recap: Chavez's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chavez walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dos Palos Broncos a 2-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won three games in a row.

Not much got past Jacob Sixtos, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Dos Palos off the board. Sixtos has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chavez's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Popoy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Dos Palos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14-1.

Looking ahead, Chavez will take on Kern Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncs have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. Dos Palos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
