Basketball Recap: Hebrew Academy Takes a Loss

If Hebrew Academy was feeling good fresh off their 66-33 takedown of Atlanta Jewish Academy last Sunday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hebrew Academy Warriors took a hard 57-41 fall against the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda on Tuesday.

Don Soffer Aventura was led to victory by Dimitri Tatulishvili and Ocean Nahum. Tatulishvili almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Nahum posted 11 points. Tatulishvili is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was George Gould, who earned seven points.

Hebrew Academy dropped their record down to 5-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Don Soffer Aventura, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hebrew Academy will square off against Scheck Hillel Community School at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hebrew Academy is facing Scheck Hillel Community School at the right time seeing as Scheck Hillel Community School is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they will face off against Avant Garde Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
