Basketball Recap: Sebeka Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Sebeka had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They received a blow as they fell 48-29 to the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 55-49 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Sebeka saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Max Lake posted 15 points and five rebounds. The game was Lake's fifth in a row with at least 15 points.

Looking ahead, Sebeka will square off against Browerville/Lafreniere HomeSchool at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Wadena-Deer Creek, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Warroad at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
