Baseball Recap: Hersey Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Hersey, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Prospect Knights 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since March 17th.

Hersey got a great performance from Lincoln Causero as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Causero has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Drew Thomas was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Arvanitis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hersey's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Prospect, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4-1.

Hersey will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
