Monmouth Academy is a perfect 6-0 against Maranacook since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mustangs will challenge the Black Bears. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Monmouth Academy sitting on five straight wins and Maranacook on nine.

Monmouth Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lisbon a 10-0 shutout. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Maranacook won against Lisbon last Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Black Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against Dirigo, sneaking past 3-2.

Noah Longfellow was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. River Fallos was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Maranacook hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dirigo struck out 14 times.

Maranacook's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Monmouth Academy, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.

Monmouth Academy skirted past Maranacook 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
