Football Recap: Wethersfield Takes a Loss

Wethersfield played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 28-7 to the Berlin Redcoats. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 43-14 to the Redcoats when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cody Puzio produced another solid performance rushing for 187 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 17 yards and one touchdown for Berlin. Those 187 rushing yards gave Puzio a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Wethersfield and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Berlin, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Wethersfield and Berlin will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Eagles see the field they'll take on Edwin O. Smith at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Berlin, their break will end when they face RHAM at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th.
