Basketball Recap: Fairmont Senior Takes a Loss

Fairmont Senior lost against Lewis County back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fairmont Senior Polar Bears took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis County Minutemen. The Polar Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lewis County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payten Goodwin, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Goodwin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexis Piggie, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Fairmont Senior's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lewis County, their record now sits at 6-3.

Fairmont Senior will host Preston at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Lewis County, they will challenge Spring Mills at 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
