Basketball Preview: Bellevue West Thunderbirds vs. Bellevue East Chieftains
The Bellevue West Thunderbirds will be playing at home against the Bellevue East Chieftains at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bellevue West's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matchups.
On Saturday, Bellevue West earned a 58-50 win over the Knights.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bellevue West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenzie Melcher, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Melcher posted two or more blocks. Ahnica Russell-brown was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Bellevue East only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point they dealt the Links on Friday. Bellevue East put the hurt on the Links with a sharp 54-34 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bellevue East.
Bellevue West is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Bellevue East, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
