Basketball Recap: 14 Straight Home Victories for Friends Academy

Friends Academy waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Seaford Vikings by a score of 74-66. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-56 back in December of 2024.

Friends Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eyan Valadez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 assists. Friends Academy is 10-3 when Valadez posts eight or more assists, but 1-2 otherwise. Chase O'Brien was another key player, dropping a triple-double on 12 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists.

Friends Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Seaford, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-8.
