Volleyball Recap: Poudre Extends Winning Streak to Four

Poudre had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Riverdale Ridge on Tuesday. The Impalas put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Impalas sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Poudre never let Riverdale Ridge on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23, 25-15.

Geo Schwalm paced Poudre's offense, picking up 17 kills. Schwalm got some help from Chais Soderberg and his 28 assists. Schwalm was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, Riverdale Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joseph Lee had 13 digs.

Poudre's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Poudre has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Centaurus on the 24th. As for Riverdale Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Boulder on the 24th.
