Baseball Recap: Portales Comes Up Short

Portales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Artesia Bulldogs, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-1 on Thursday.

Elijah Tellez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Kaden Parrish was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Portales' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Artesia, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Portales by a score of 13-1 later that day.
