Football Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Layton Lancers

The Weber Warriors will square off against the Layton Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weber will be strutting in after a win while Layton will be coming in after a defeat.

Weber will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up eight points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Farmington on Friday. The Warriors managed a 35-31 victory over the Phoenix.

DYSON PARKER was his usual excellent self, rushing for 199 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. TY HELLMANN was in the mix as well, providing Weber with one TD.

Weber didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Farmington to a completion percentage of just 50%. The Warriors weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60.9%.

Meanwhile, Layton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 52-7 loss at the hands of Syracuse.

Weber will have to contain Gavin Hurst as he made an impact in Layton's last game. He rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Hurst's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

The win got Weber back to even at 3-3. As for Layton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Weber against Layton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-12 victory. In that game, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 49-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
