Del Oro won against Pioneer last Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Del Oro Golden Eagles came out on top against the Sheldon Huskies by a score of 5-1. The Golden Eagles' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Mikayla Finn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kate Brown 2026, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Avyn Brower, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Del Oro pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Sheldon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Del Oro will head out on the road to face off against Casa Roble at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Casa Roble is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Sheldon, they will be playing at home against Whitney at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sheldon 3.6, Whitney 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
