League recap: Yuma stuns Holyoke in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Yuma, who defeated 100th ranked Holyoke, 28-20. Roel Cardona ran for 123 yards during the win.

Cornerstone Christian Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in 1A North Central. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs triumphed over Highland 48-0.

Jacob Baca was a force in the backfield as Cornerstone Christian Academy defeated the Huskies.

Orlando Lefever made the biggest impact on defense this week as Wray topped Wiggins. The 5-foot-6 junior pulled down 2 interceptions and racked up 1 sack.

Baca provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Tim Naiman's team topped Highland. Baca's key target this week was Nick Lubin, who caught 3 passes for 46 yards.

Nathaniel Ruble put up the best numbers in passing as the Bulldogs defeated Alan Overton's team. He finished with 5 completions for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ruble's favorite target this week was Lubin, who caught 3 passes for 46 yards.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ruble has thrown for 820 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Lubin has 21 catches for 357 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Cornerstone Christian Academy's Lubin goes up against Resurrection Christian's Brock Buxman.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Bulldogs and the Cougars face off next week.

Next week's game between Cornerstone Christian Academy and Resurrection Christian will feature an aerial matchup as Ruble tests his arm against Buxman's defensive ability.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mark Roggy's team takes on the Bulldogs. The Cougars are in fourth place, while Cornerstone Christian Academy is in first place.

The Huskies lost to the Bulldogs 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
