Basketball Recap: Crestwood Takes Down Cloverleaf in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Crestwood had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over the Cloverleaf Colts. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Hannah Ward, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Guyette, who had three points and 12 boards.

Crestwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cloverleaf only seven offensive boards.

Cloverleaf's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Seiwerth, who put up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Bayer, who earned eight points.

Crestwood is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. Cloverleaf's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Crestwood will face off against Canfield at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crestwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. Cloverleaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
