Basketball Recap: Oviedo Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Oviedo had won two straight games and Cameron Bryant did his part to make it three on Wednesday. The Oviedo Lions breezed by the Lyman Greyhounds to the tune of 75-17 thanks in part to Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Conner Collins, who went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Oviedo pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Lyman, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Oviedo and Lyman could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Oviedo will challenge Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 52 places (87 vs. 35). Similarly, Lyman (ranked 492nd) will meet Lake Brantley (ranked 122nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
