Softball Recap: Lanai Wins Going Away Against Molokai

Lanai made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Molokai, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pine Lads put the hurt on the Farmers with a sharp 19-3 victory on Friday. The Pine Lads might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Leihiwa Siliga was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Bello, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Lanai always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Lanai's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Molokai, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.

Lanai will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Farmers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
