Baseball Recap: Mount St. Mary's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After a string of six wins, Mount St. Mary's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Heritage Hall Chargers by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in March.

Parker Hayes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Wade Webb was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Stanley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mount St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Heritage Hall, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Mount St. Mary and Heritage Hall should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Rockets will square off against Woodward at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (39 vs. 204). Meanwhile, Heritage Hall (ranked 19th) will meet Washington (ranked 107th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 3.7, the Warriors 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
