Softball Preview: Kelso Hilanders vs. Prairie Falcons        
        
		
            
 Kelso has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  face off against the Prairie Falcons at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
 Kelso is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 22  runs  on Monday, they were much more limited against Union  on Wednesday. They took  a  4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The shutout was out of character for Kelso seeing as the last time the team failed to score was  back in March.
  Paityn Mackin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and three unearned) runs on six hits.
 Meanwhile, Prairie came tearing into  Wednesday's  match with eight straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Plainsmen  a   5-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Prairie has won by  exactly five  runs.
 Kelso's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Prairie, their victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-7.
