Volleyball Recap: Player #18 and Ava Newbury Secure Win for Essex Tech

The Essex Tech Hawks were able to grind out a solid victory over the Triton Regional Vikings on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-15, 25-15.

Leading Essex Tech to victory were Ava Newbury and Player #18. Newbury had three digs and three aces, while Player #18 had eight digs and two aces. Those three aces gave Newbury a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Essex Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 30 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

The win got Essex Tech back to even at 7-7. As for Triton Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Essex Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against North Reading on the 9th. As for Triton Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Ipswich on the 9th.
