Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). They came out on top against the Miamisburg Vikings by a score of 67-59 on Friday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Vikings are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jay'Sean Price, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Sante Jones also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Hoerner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 33.9% of Miamisburg's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Chrys Ngoh, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five assists.

Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Miamisburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Wayne has already played their next game, a 70-41 victory against Meadowdale on the 25th. As for Miamisburg, they will square off against Springboro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miamisburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
