Basketball Game Preview: Lordstown Red Devils vs. Chalker Wildcats

The Lordstown Red Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Chalker Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-40, which was the final score in Lordstown's tilt against McDonald on Wednesday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Chalker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Bristol and fell 82-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 847th, while the Panthers are ranked 418th).

Lordstown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Chalker, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Lordstown beat Chalker 42-35 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lordstown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
