Basketball Recap: Newport Comes Up Short

If Newport was riding high fresh off their 74-37 takedown of Junction City on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Newport Cubs had to suffer through a 67-37 loss at the hands of the Seaside Seagulls. The Cubs have struggled against the Seagulls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Seaside, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Newport has already played their next matchup, a 49-33 loss against North Bend on the 16th. As for Seaside, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Marist at 5:30 p.m. on December 30th.
