Baseball Recap: Neumann Regional Academy Has No Trouble Against Benton

Neumann Regional Academy barely beat Benton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Knights blew past the Tigers 11-1 on Monday. Considering the Golden Knights have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Angelo Birch made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Walter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Neumann Regional Academy is undefeated when Walter posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nolan Fagnano, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Neumann Regional Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Neumann Regional Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Benton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7.

Neumann Regional Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benton, they will challenge Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
