Recap: Cary Imps vs. Ashley Screaming Eagle
There's no place like home for the Cary Imps, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 48-42 win over Ashley on Friday.
Leading Cary to victory were Stone Holcombe and Lee Podger. Holcombe scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Podger scored nine points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Podger pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Simon Eyob, who scored five points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Ashley still got an impressive performance from Coen Locklear, who scored 14 points. Locklear scored a full 33.3% of Ashley's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Putnam, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Cary's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Ashley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
