Softball Game Preview: Irvington Vikings vs. Washington Huskies

Irvington is 0-8 against Washington since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vikings will host the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Irvington came up short against James Logan on Thursday, falling 27-1.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Washington and Newark Memorial, and Newark Memorial kept the tradition alive. The Huskies lost 28-7 to the Cougars on Thursday.

Washington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Racklin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another was Elena Fotopoulos, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Irvington's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Washington, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Irvington might still be hurting after the 15-7 defeat they got from Washington in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
