Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Dobson Mustangs
Mesa is 10-0 against Dobson since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mesa Jackrabbits will head out on the road to face off against the Dobson Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Mesa is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dobson in Arizona (Mesa is ranked 21st, while Dobson is ranked 102nd).
Mesa pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Desert Vista 65-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (60), Mesa still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Conway Cummard, who scored 25 points along with seven assists. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Seumanu, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-47, which was the final score in Dobson's tilt against Basha on Thursday. Dobson has struggled against Basha recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Mesa are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Mesa beat Dobson 57-48 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Mesa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dobson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
