Baseball Recap: South Gibson Beats Dyer County for Their Eighth Straight Win

South Gibson entered their tilt with Dyer County on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Choctaws with a sharp 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Gage Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

South Gibson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Dyer County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-7-1 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Gibson will host Lexington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dyer County, they will face off against Bartlett at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
