McNairy Central hadn't done well against Hardin County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bobcats won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 5-4. The victory was nothing new for the Bobcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Case Rickman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Case Stone was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Luke King was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

McNairy Central's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Hardin County, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McNairy Central will challenge Madison at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Hardin County, they will square off against Wayne County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
