After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley Christian, Woodside was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Carlmont Scots 3-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 4-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hannah Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Caroline Ong was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Vanessa Carlos also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Woodside has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Carlmont, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Woodside wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-5 victory against King's Academy on the 16th. As for Carlmont, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Capuchino on the 17th.
