Softball Recap: Timberland Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Andrews, Timberland was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Charleston Math & Science Riptide, sneaking past 9-7.

The team relied heavily on Kaylee Waters, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Aleighyia Wright was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Timberland's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Charleston Math & Science, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Timberland will square off against Goose Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Charleston Math & Science, they will take on Branchville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Charleston Math & Science their first taste of in-conference action this season.
