Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Southwest's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

If Winn wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Southwest, they should've done a better job of containing Tremayne Martin. The Southwest Dragons strolled past the Winn Mavericks with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 73-57 thanks in part to Martin, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played.

Joaquin Zamora was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Winn still got an impressive performance from Miguel Mancha, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Francisco Villarreal, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Southwest is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Winn, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-25.
