The Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Fort Bend Bush Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Austin has given up an average of 48.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-7, which was the final score in Fort Bend Austin's tilt against Fort Bend Hightower on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Fort Bend Austin had strong showings from Koen Herrmann, who rushed for 80 yards, and Kaleb Dixon, who picked up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Even if they lost, Fort Bend Austin's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Cortez Cook was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Bush came up short against Fort Bend Travis on Saturday, falling 55-29. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Tigers are ranked 159th).
Fort Bend Austin will need to focus on slowing down Rokeeb Okunnu, one of several Fort Bend Bush players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 118 receiving yards and one TD. Okunnu really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Jamir Young, who rushed for 74 yards and one score.
Fort Bend Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Fort Bend Bush, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Everything went Fort Bend Austin's way against Fort Bend Bush in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Fort Bend Austin made off with a 32-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
