The Langtree Charter Academy Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Cherryville Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Langtree Charter Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Not much got past Tanner Lewis, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Corvian Community off the board. Langtree Charter Academy is undefeated when Lewis allows one or fewer hits, but 10-11 otherwise.
At the plate, Langtree Charter Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Barbee, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cherryville made easy work of Bradford Prep on Tuesday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Ironmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Parker Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brock Bumgardner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Talon Dalton, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Cherryville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bradford Prep only posted an OBP of .118.
Cherryville is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their record is now 13-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Langtree Charter Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cherryville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts.
