Basketball Recap: Weaubleau Takes a Loss

Weaubleau fought the good fight in their overtime match against Lighthouse Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lighthouse Christian Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Chargers are ranked 51st).

Lighthouse Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lee Stinson out in front who went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Elijah Rahn, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven assists.

Weaubleau's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lighthouse Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Weaubleau will venture away from home to take on El Dorado Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lighthouse Christian, they will host New Heights Christian Academy on Tuesday. New Heights Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Lighthouse Christian likes a good challenge.
