Preview: Waukon Indians vs. Houston Hurricanes
The Waukon Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Houston Hurricanes at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Houston took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Waukon, who comes in off a win.
Waukon posted their biggest victory yet this season two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 64-30 victory over Charles City on the road. Waukon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Houston unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. Their tough 65-44 loss to Spring Grove might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Houston has suffered since November 24, 2023.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Avery Kingsley, who scored 21 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Botcher, who scored nine points.
Waukon's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
