It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Henry County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Dickson County Cougars 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on 20 straight.

Irelynn Beecham spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Breely Peirpoint was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run and two runs. Andie Barrett was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Henry County's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Dickson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-12.

Dickson County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Northwest on the 7th. Hopefully Henry County paid attention to the Cougars' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
