Volleyball Game Preview: Hopi Bruins vs. Round Valley Elks

Hopi is 0-10 against Round Valley since October of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elks at 4:00 p.m.

Hopi came up short against Pinon last Wednesday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Round Valley came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Round Valley walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-3.

Hopi better focus on containing Kylar Penrod and Skyler Hevener as the pair were huge in Round Valley's win. Penrod had five digs and two aces, while Hevener had six digs and three aces. Hevener has been hot, having posted three or more aces the last five times she's played. Bren Finch also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Round Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in ten consecutive matchups.

Hopi's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Round Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 23-8.
