Baseball Recap: NSU University Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

NSU University got themselves on the board against Palmer Trinity on Saturday, but Palmer Trinity never followed suit. They blew past the Falcons 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Aidan Jacobs looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Devin Mila and Rocco Rovetto did most of the damage at the plate: Mila scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Rovetto scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Mila a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Manuel, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double.

NSU University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer Trinity only posted an OBP of .176.

NSU University is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Palmer Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Looking ahead, NSU University will be playing at home against Westminster Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palmer Trinity, they are taking a road trip to take on Coral Shores at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
